IMPORTANT NOTE: THIS PETITION ALLOWS YOU TO LET YOUR REPRESENTATIVES KNOW YOU WANT THEM TO ACT TO SUSPEND AB 32.  IF THE LEGISLATURE AND GOVERNOR FAIL TO ACT, WE WILL BEGIN COLLECTING SIGNATURES ON A SEPARATE PETITION TO PLACE AN AB 32 SUSPENSION ON THE BALLOT SO CITIZENS CAN VOTE ON OUR PROPOSAL.

THIS PETITION WILL CLOSE ON DECEMBER 18th

A majority vote of the Legislature and the signature of the Governor would suspend AB 32.  With California already facing a severe recession, AB 32 stands to make things much worse if fully implemented.  Please sign the petition online using the form below.

Please also print petitions for your friends, family and co-workers to sign. This petition

Official Petition to Suspend AB 32
Submitted to the California State Legislature

AB 32, the “Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006” must immediately be suspended because:

  • AB 32 will cost our state up to 1.1 million jobs, cost the average family $3,857 annually, add nearly $50,000 a year to the average small business’s costs and will result in a total loss of output of $183 billion.

  • California’s unemployment rate has now reached 12.1%, one of the highest in the nation. With jobs leaving the state, AB 32 is yet another burdensome regulation that will cause more businesses to relocate.

  • Scientists agree that because California contributes less than 2% of the world’s greenhouse gas emissions, AB 32 will do NOTHING to stop global warming, even if it is caused by human activity.

  • The loss of tax revenue that will result from AB 32 will devastate the budgets of California agencies including those responsible for providing health care to those in need and protecting the environment.

  • AB 32 will put government in control of what have traditionally been individual choices. We don’t want the government telling us what we drive or where we live.

Therefore, I hereby exercise my Constitutional right to petition my representatives.
